The Problem with Weak Sauce Christianity

January 22, 2012

God used His prophet Hosea to demonstrate the adultery of Israel. Despite their repeated unfaithfulness and betrayal of His love, the Lord's commitment to the covenant Israel had willingly entered into with Him was unchanged. However, this behavior would not go unpunished. God disciplined them by taking away the blessings He previously provided and sending them into exile. Pastor Andrew ties God's expectations of his people, the church, to the Israelites. It's a wake up call and a warning against disregard for our absolute indebtedness to God.

Are You Merely a Christian?

January 15, 2012

There's a difference between being a Christian and being a disciple. Being a disciple is actively following our Master and striving to be like Him. We are meant to be more than a Christian in name only, but we are to be like Christ in word and deed.

Extreme Makeover: Soul Edition

January 1, 2012 - Happy New Year!

Dolts, Dingbats and Dimwits

December 18, 2011

Pastor Andrew reminds us that God's thoughts and ways are so far above us, that we often don't understand the methods He chooses to use. From using an unmarried virgin to carry the Savior of the world, to allowing evil and ungodly men to crucify the Son, God's methods are sometimes baffling and always awe inspiring.

Picking Apart Christmas

December 11, 2011
Advent: Week 3

Pastor Andrew talks about the way we pick and choose elements we really like about Jesus and Christmas, while ignoring the rest. Obviously this is no way to live as a Christian. Embracing the fullness of Christ and His message, His call, and His right to our lives is what is demanded of us.

(Sorry, the first part of this sermon was not recorded).

Is Your House Ready for Christmas?

December 4, 2011
Advent: Week 2

John the baptizer told us, "Repent, the Kingdom is at hand!" The Messiah is coming, and you better have your house in order. Have you made your life ready? Is your house in order and ready to welcome the King?

Is it Christmas, or something else?

November 27, 2011
Advent: Week 1

Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus, wracking up credit card debts, buying the items from the Christmas list - are these the elements of your Christmas experience, or does it look anything like a reflection on the humble birth, life and death of a Savior? What is your Christmas list? The Pharisees and religious leaders all had their lists about what they wanted in a Messiah - their list dictated how they saw Messiah when He arrived - He certainly did not look like their lists.  Does your list look like HIM?
